I dislike AMD processors. Not much else to say. It’s an Intel, it’s Dual Core.

Upgraded from an E6420 to this E8500. Besides the speed / performance improvements I noticed mostly the much smaller cooler that comes with this almost double the speed processor. It’s only about half as thick as the E6420 cooler and much lighter. No copper core either. It still keeps the CPU sufficiently cool even after a full run of Futuremark benchmarks! So the new design must create a lot less heat while greatly improving performance. Good job INTEL!

The Core 2 Duo E8500 exceeded my expectations. By far, it is the best processor I’ve owned. Super fast and capable of multi-tasking with ease. Worth every penny I invested.

An improvement over earlier generation Core 2 Duo processors. I’d recommend this to anyone who can’t afford an Extreme CPU for gaming or other use.

I have always been an “Intel man.” There is nothing wrong with AMD, I just like Intel. The Core 2 Duo processors are extremely fast and for the money are a better buy right now verses the Quad processors. I have yet to overload this processor using some fairly intense multi-media video editing software. I also have the maximum memory that my Intel motherboard will support. So far, so good!
